Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to examine their items and update the measurements by hand if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Sizing System Changes Before the change, the sizing featured one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Member Accounts A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, located in Scotland, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing". "For me this is particularly frustrating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Platform Context The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
